San Diego resident and professional golfer, Phil Mickelson and his design firm have been selected to update the north course at Torrey Pines, one of San Diego's most beautiful and iconic golf courses. The $7.8 million renovation will include new greens, improved irrigation, and cart paths amongst other things. The San Diego Public Works Department will hold 3 public meetings to discuss the proposed remodel. The first meeting is at The Lodge at Torrey Pines on December 18th at 6:30pm. If all goes well, the renovation is scheduled to begin after the PGA's Farmers Insurance Open in January and completed in the summer of 2014. Phil Mickelson lives in Rancho Santa Fe and won his first title as a pro at Torrey Pines in 1993.
