North County Students To Lay Wreaths at Miramar Saturday

Over 100,000 volunteers from around the country will lay wreaths at 800 national cemeteries - an annual event honoring our veterans. Thousands of wreaths will be laid on graves at Miramar National Cemetery and Fort Rosecrans tomorrow beginning at 9am. 214 of the 1500 wreaths being laid at Miramar were paid for by fundraising efforts of students at El Camino and Oceanside High Schools. Over 40 cadets from Ramona High School's Naval Junior Officer Training Corps will be participating in the event as well as countless other North County students. Some students will be honoring former classmates and friends that died while serving their country in Iraq and Afghanistan.
