There are many wonderful charities that help out families around the holidays and one, especially, could really use some extra love this season. A record number of people (almost 800 families) have applied for the Escondido Salvation Army's Christmas Blessings Baskets program this year and there have not been enough donations to fill all of the requests.
The program is one of Salvation Army's most popular. The baskets contain food and toys for children 12 years old and younger. Toys for ages 0-2 and 10-12 are in most need and there are currently no extra canned goods or donations to pay for meat and other supplies. Food, toy, or monetary donations can be mailed or delivered to the Salvation Army at 1301 Las Villas Way, Escondido, CA 92026. For more information, please call (760) 745-8616 and thank you for spreading a little joy this holiday season!
