Welcome to Cayucos

Just north of Morro Bay and just to the south of Cambria lies the quintessential California surf town that is Cayucos.  At the north end of Estero Bay, Cayucos has views to the south across the bay toward Morro Rock and Morro Bay.  Whales migrate fairly close here and are a common sight during parts of the year.  Long, walkable beaches, a long pier, boutique hotels and Bed and Breakfasts make this a popular resort town for those escaping the heat of the Central Valley.  Not a long drive from San Luis Obispo for everything you need, far enough that you have plenty of open space and a sleepy beach town feel.  With Cambria, San Simeon, Hearst Castle and Big Sur to the north, and Paso Robles and wine country to the east, there is plenty to do if you want there to be, and plenty of nothing but beach walks and sunsets if you don't.  The small village of Cayucos is host to a few restaurants, cafes, shops and thrift stores.  Cafe della Via for finer Italian food, Duckie's Chowder House for hot clam chowder on a cool day, and Schooner's Wharf for outdoor food and wine with an ocean view are among my favorites. Hidden Kitchen for breakfast and Bijou bakery for espresso drinks and quiche and baked goods are also not to be missed.  Ocean front homes here are great income property opportunities while the inland blocks are quiet neighborhoods.  Surfing, fishing, hiking, biking and even a small skateboard ramp/park offer fun things to do.
